Employed

Well I know I have posted anything in a real long time. Most of that reason is Facebook but there really hasn't been any news to report over here. Yes I've been unemployed this whole time looking for a job, and believe me it sucked harsh. But that's old new cause I have a new job that I just started today, and it's not as bad as I thought it was. It's not the best job but it's a job and I think I like the company. The job is in Mobile Al though so that means a move for the redhead and I. Not right off the bat though, staying with the Mother-in-law while Mims stays in NOLA. We'll be doing it for about a month before we get everything moved though. Sorry I'm not just in the mood to type too many details tonight. More to come...

Well folks it's been a week now and I've been Unemployed the whole time. Last Tuesday I got let go from my job of 5 years for a crappy economy. Basically they couldn't find me work to do and pay me for it so they cut me loose. I'm not heartbroken about it honestly, I just need a new job. I've sent out 8 apps already and about to do 4 more today. Keep your fingers crossed everyone.

Heed my warning...

If you consider yourself a lover of good movies, good stories, and good plot. Do yourself a favor and don't see Twilight.

That is all.

Bram Stoker, author of Dracula, and Vlad the Impaler, the original Dracula, have the same birthday. Coincidence?

Ok so I was lazy and I just copied her post, so here's our pics.

We went to the Renaissance Fair in Conroe, Texas this weekend. I cannot tell you how awesomely awesome it was. Pics are behind the cut )

I don't know how I would feel about bringing little ones to this faire. Not only was it incredibly easy to get lost, I've never seen that much T&A outside of a gentleman's club.

Since everyone on my friends list is humping Obama's leg, I'll tell you for one I don't trust him. There I said it and it's done, on to more important things.

Went to the Texas Ren Fest this past weekend. It was quite fun, Mims enjoyed herself alot. That makes me happy that she's still gushy over that Ren Fest. If you want to see pics check out her LJ, with all this election stuff going on I'm suprised no-one has said a thing about the lovely pics she posted.

It's hard to ignore the fact that today is Election Day in the U.S. If you went to the polls today, tell us what it was like. Long line? Free stickers? Hanging chads? We want the details.

Well cats and kittens it's that time year again and looks like someone is eying up my city for a visit.

Hurricane Gustav is freaking everyone out here. Me I'm cool, got the game plan in place, making sure friends and family will be safe so everything is right for me.

Except one thing.

Today LSU announced that they are moving the Season opener from 4pm to 10am. Now I switched my schedule from closing tomorrow to opening tomorrow so I could watch the game. This change makes me soooooo mad! I'm gonna sit here at work tomorrow, with nothing to do and no TV to watch the game on! *sigh*

Such is life. God is giggling his ass off at me.

It's coming...

Figured I need to post something here so I am.

I like the new D&D, very streamlined, very fun. We played our second game yesterday and got to level two. We also got some new blood into the group. For a few years now our role-playing group has been Kami, Chad, Nate, Mims, and myself. Well we invited someone else into the group, Michelle. I guess we needed another girl to balance out, but honestly she's just a girl from Kami's work that wanted to play and we're giving her a shot. She was kinda quiet but I guess that's to be expected.

Married life is going good, no big crisis hit us yet. Dunno Katrina was a test for us I suppose at least for two people just dating at the time. I guess it was a sign that we'd make it together.

Other than that? Nothing much really. Everything going smoothly more or less.

If you could have the power to fly, be invisible, or teleport anywhere, which would you choose?

Teleport without a doubt. Just so I could sneak up on my friends and freak them out. Other reasons two. Not my fav power but it's up there.

Wow

...Just wow, what a great 9th inning that was. There they were the LSU Tigers 3 outs away from calling it a season. A walk for the first batter started it off and before you knew it 5 runs had scored, it changed from a 7-4 game to a 9-7 game, and then LSU sealed the deal with a good bottom inning. This ride isn't over yet, game at 6 tomorrow for a chance to go to the College World Series.

I'm not quite sure what I should write about. It's about time for the monthly update and I'm drawing a blank here. Still playing MMO's? Check. Still Married? Check. Still Role-playing? Check. Life about the same? Check. This is starting to remind me of a Dethklok song so I should stop there before this gets brutal. I just haven't used LJ lately to tell you what's been angering me or a small snapshot of my life. So I guess Geaux Tigers or something like that?

Oh I've thought of something! Did you know that I've gotten Mims hooked on a little series called Battlestar Galactica? Well I've gotten hooked as well but this girl told me she didn't want to watch it but now comes home and asks if we can watch an episode or two. She's so damn cute too! Right now we're halfway through season two so no spoilers for future eps.

Two Pieces of Bread

I know I haven't posted in a long while but I feel like I finally have a livejournal worthy story.

So here's the set up. I'm not afraid to said it money has been tight for Mims and I. So to cut some costs I've been bringing my lunch to work instead of going to buy it on my lunch break. Well Mims comes home Tuesday evening and happens to mention that she made a sandwich for her lunch but never ate it. She offers it as a plain turkey sandwich with nothing on it. Already made sandwich for the win; it'll save me a few precious minutes in the morning. Wednesday morning, tell Mims goodbye and pack my lunch which was easy with a pre-made sandwich. Well I go about the day doing my work and when lunch time comes around I get a call from the Distribution Center for my company. They are having some kind of computer problem and I need to go check on it. So I figure I'll go check this out real quick, come back and then go to lunch. Well that didn't happen that way, I was at the DC for longer than than expected and then caught in traffic on the way back, and at this point I'm starving. Well I had left my lunch at the store so I figured what the hell and got some BK instead. Turkey sandwich comes home for a second time. Well Thursday morning, rinse, repeat. This time I get a chance to take my lunch without interruptions. So I'm on the phone with Mims and I've just drove out to the lake front for some scenery while I eat. I open the bag and take the turkey sandwich out and I look at and think, "This is kinda thin, what'd she do put two slices on it?" I take the sandwich out only to reveal...

Two Pieces of Bread...

So I say to my wife, "Where's the turkey?!"

"You didn't take the turkey?" She replies.

"What do you mean?" I retort.

"The turkey is still in the fridge then" she says with a giggle.

"What the crap is it doing there?!" I exclaim.

And here's the strangest thing I've heard in a long time:

"I never put the turkey on the sandwich if I'm not going to eat it right way, It makes the bread soggy."

With that I have a giggling wife on the phone and two pieces of bread for lunch. Oh I get a "I'm sorry" somewhere between the giggles from her, but I cannot understand how this woman thinks sometimes. I mean two days ago she tells me that she already made a sandwich for me to take, but I ask:

How do you make a sandwich if the meat isn't even with the bread!

Well this question just gets more giggling and sorries out of Mims.

In conclusion, did I marry a strange girl... you betcha.

The phone convo ended like this,

"I'm sorry baby I thought you saw the turkey in the fridge"

"Well when you tell me the sandwich is made I'm not looking for anything in the fridge."

She giggles, "I'm so sorry sweetheart, do you still love me?"

"Of course I do, now let me go... I'm going to Rally's"
